“Talent wins games, but team-work and intelligence wins championships”.
Sports day is a platform to showcase the talent and efforts put in by the students to make it a successful event. Sports at primary level are not about competition. It is about having fun, being physically active and learning the basics of sports, building co-ordination and motor-skills. To give the students an opportunity to display their self – confidence, patience, zeal and sportsmanship, BVM Global Senior Secondary School held its 8th Annual Sports Day on 20th of January, 2018 for Upper Primary students in the Senior Block playground. The programme commenced with the prayer song. Class 3 students performed a colourful
paper plate drill. Through this drill they tried to spread the message of 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Fun filled games were organized for the parents. Winding the reels of the past, enthusiastic parents joyfully accepted the invitation we extended, to participate in the events planned exclusively for them. It was indeed a wonderful scene to witness them energetically participate in the events scheduled for them. Class 4 students performed the drill using a hat as their prop. Boys of Class 5 performed a drill using their wands. Girls of Class 5 performed Yogasanas and the health benefits of Yogasanas were explained.
The Chief Guest then addressed the gathering. The Chief Guest congratulated the students for putting up an excellent show. Prize distribution ceremony was held for students and Parents. The Chief Guest Smt. Revathi Ramakrishna, acting principal of RMTI School, Sholinganallur, the Principal, the Vice-Principal and the Head Mistresses felicitated the winners of the competitions. The proceedings came to an end with the National Anthem.
