Diwali is the ‘Festival of Lights’. It symbolises the removal of darkness and ignorance. BVM Global Bollineni Hillside Senior Secondary School believes in imparting holistic development in the students. Hence every festival is celebrated in the school with great pomp and show. This year Diwali was celebrated on 17th of October, 2017.In the Junior Block, the entrance was decorated with colourful kolam and Diyas. The day’s celebration started with a prayer to the Almighty. Speeches, dances and songs were sung as a part of the celebration. The students enjoyed the fireworks with lot of enthusiasm. The safety measures that are to be followed while playing with crackers were explained and take homes were given to the children.In the Senior Block, the students of primary classes came dressed up in traditional attire. The day’s programme began with the invocation prayer which was followed by a Medley. The Medley was a conglomeration of songs from three different languages - Hindi, English and Tamil. It was followed by a Hindi speech by two students highlighting the significance of Diwali. The speakers also motivated the students to have a safe Diwali. The height of the celebration was a video clipping of students and teachers emphasizing the importance of celebrating Eco-friendly Diwali.
